Let's Explore the Area of Englewood

Englewood is shared between two counties – Charlotte and Sarasota and is right along Florida’s Gulf Coast.  Englewood is a laid-back beach and fishing town, with a population of just over 16,600.  The downtown area is not fancy or high-tech,  but a real working village.  There are many small shops and little restaurants.  There are also cozy cafes, unique gift shops, art galleries, and boutiques.

Many people describe Englewood as one of Florida’s best-kept secrets.  It’s not the typical Florida town or destination.  It’s not saturated with tourist attractions and its beaches are stunning and uncrowded.  When visiting this wonderful area, be sure to shop for local goodies at the Englewood Farmers Market.  You should also try locally made wine at Catania’s Winery.  And think about taking a  hike at Lemon Bay Park and Environmental Center.  One of the most popular things to do when here is to search for shark teeth! There are plenty to be found at  Manasota Beach Key,  But you’ll find many many more at Blind Pass Beach Park.  If you are in the area during April, don’t miss the annual Shark’s Tooth Festival.

Englewood is definitely a small town, but everyone who stumbles upon this area instantly falls in love.   The relaxed vibe is perfect for those who want to enjoy a beachy lifestyle away from the bustling city life. It’s a place where you can enjoy nature, and a quieter type of living, and yet you are not far from all the attractions and excitement that larger cities have to offer.  The cost of real estate is lower here as compared to many other Florida beach areas.  The median price for homes is right around $279,900.  But keep in mind you can find homes that range all the way up to a million dollars and higher.  When it comes to style of home and price points, there is something here in Englewood for almost everyone!
